So I wanted to download Binance on my phone and... it wasn't in the App Store. Cool.
Turns out this is pretty common depending on where you are. After some googling and trial and error, here's what actually worked for me.
What I Tried on iPhone
The App Store in my region just doesn't have it. I had to create a new Apple ID with a different region (US works). Kind of annoying but not that hard - just need a different email and you can set it up without a credit card.
Once I switched to that account in the App Store, searched "Binance" and there it was. Downloaded, switched back to my main account for everything else.
Android Was Easier
On my old Android phone, I just went to binance.com on the browser, found the APK download, and installed it directly. Had to enable "install from unknown sources" in settings first.
Just make sure you're downloading from the actual binance.com - there are fake sites out there.
Setting It Up
First thing after opening: used BNREF01 when registering. Almost forgot and would've missed out on the 20% fee rebate.
Then I turned on Face ID, set up Google Authenticator, and added a PIN code. The app nags you about security stuff and honestly... just do it. Better safe than sorry with crypto.
The App Itself
Actually pretty good once you're in. The interface is cleaner than the website in some ways. I use it mainly for checking prices and doing quick trades when I'm not at my computer.
The charts are decent, you can set price alerts, and the portfolio view is nice. Futures trading on mobile is possible but I personally don't trust myself not to fat-finger something important.
One Annoying Thing
The app logs you out way too often for "security." I get why, but entering 2FA codes multiple times a day gets old. There might be a setting for this but I haven't found it.
Is It Worth It
Yeah, definitely. Being able to check positions and make trades from anywhere is useful. Just make sure you secure it properly - losing your phone with crypto apps on it would be bad.
